What GapProbe collects, why, who processes it, and how to have it deleted. GapProbe is in public beta and run by an individual, so this is written to be short and plain.

Who runs GapProbe
GapProbe is operated by Titas Ghosh. For any privacy question or request, contact hello@gapprobe.com.
What we collect
- Account details: your email address and either a hashed password or, if you continue with Google, the basic profile Google shares (your name, email address and profile picture), handled by our authentication provider.
- Searches you run: the country, region, city and industry you search for.
- Prospects you save: public business details (name, industry, location, public phone and website), the status you set, and notes you write.
- Analysis results you save: a summary of public technology signals and opportunity scores for a business you chose to analyze. We do not store the website's HTML or page content.
- Usage counts: a record of each search and analysis you run, used only to apply daily beta limits.
- Feedback: messages you send through the feedback form, with the topic you choose.
- Essential cookies and local storage: a sign-in session cookie and your light or dark theme preference. We do not use advertising or analytics trackers.
Why we use it
To provide your account and workspace, run the searches and analyses you ask for, keep the service within fair-use limits, fix problems, and improve GapProbe based on your feedback. We do not sell your data or use it for advertising.
Who processes it
- Supabase hosts our database and authentication.
- Vercel hosts the web application.
- Google confirms your identity when you choose to continue with Google. We do not receive your Google password or access your Google account beyond your basic profile.
- Foursquare receives the market and industry of each search you run, to return matching businesses. It does not receive your email.
- Businesses' public websites receive a request from GapProbe's server when you click Analyze. They see GapProbe's server, not you.
- An email provider sends account emails such as sign-up confirmation.
Information about businesses
GapProbe works with publicly available business information: listings from Foursquare and the public pages of a business's own website. It does not collect information about private individuals, scrape Google Maps or LinkedIn, or access anything behind a login, paywall or anti-bot protection. A business that wants its information corrected or excluded can contact us.
How long we keep it
We keep your account data while your account is open. Usage counts older than 30 days are no longer needed for limits and may be removed. When you ask us to delete your account, we delete your profile, searches, saved prospects, analyses, notes, usage counts and feedback.
Your choices and rights
You can edit or delete saved prospects and notes in your workspace at any time. To get a copy of your data, correct it, or delete your account, contact hello@gapprobe.com. Depending on where you live, you may have further rights under laws such as the GDPR or CCPA, and you can complain to your local data protection authority.
Security
Data is protected by row-level access rules so each account can read only its own records. Service credentials stay on the server. No system is perfectly secure, so please use a unique password.
Changes
We will update this page when our practices change and adjust the effective date above. For significant changes we will let signed-in users know.
